If you’re a fan of surfy, acoustic vibes like Ben Howard and Laura Marling then Ruarri Joseph is for you, performing at The Queens Hall, Narberth on Saturday June 21, supported by Valleyers to kickstart a laid back summer.

Cornwall based singer-songwriter Ruarri Joseph has been compared to the likes of Damien Rice and David Gray, playing emotive guitar with his own earthy folk touches. He’s been described as a ‘breath of fresh air’ singing with a power that comes from the heart.

Born in Edinburgh, Ruarri shortly moved to rural New Zealand, where he discovered his song-writing roots. On turning 17 he packed his bags and moved back to the UK, where he released his debut album ‘Tales of Grime and Grit’ on Atlantic Records. Later quitting Atlantic Records to form his own label ‘Pip Productions’ on which all of his later LPs were then released.

Support comes from Valleyers, a Pembrokeshire-based band. Lead singer-songwriter Nayfe Slusjan has captivated audiences, notably Sam Beam from Iron & Wine and even Fleet Foxes! With members from Chailo Sim and Beneath the Reef a laid back vibe is ensured to set the evening flowing.

Tickets to this event are cheaper in advance at £9 (£7 for members and concessions) and can be purchased from Span Arts box office on 01834 869323 or online at span-arts.org.uk. Doors open at 7:30pm.
