What do a teacher, a karate instructor and a security guard have in common? Simon Bligh worked as all three before starting his comedy career.

Bring your mates, your dates or even your mum to the long-running monthly Span Arts Comedy Club, for food, drink and laughter at the Queens Hall, Narberth, on Thursday May 8.

Headlining the show is Simon Bligh, a Liverpudlian comedian who has been performing for over 20 years. Playful and enthusiastic, Simon’s show is full of memorable lines and ideas that he’s mastered and perfected in his time as a stand-up comedian.

A former jack of all trades, Simon has worked all over, eventually landing back in the UK, going on to be the Time Out Comedy Winner, Perrier Award nominee and appearing on shows on BBC2, ITV and Channel 5.

The second act of the evening is Kiri Pritchard McLean, an outrageously talented Welsh comedian. Kiri fills her set with bittersweet anecdotes of youth and relationships, contrasting a sprinkle of dark punchlines with great stories.

Featuring a dry wit and natural talent for performing, it’s easy to see why Nottingham Comedy festival named her the Breakout Act of the Year.

Compere Toby Hadoke is previous winner of the Les Dawson award who performed regularly for Robin Ince and appeared alongside Marcus Brigstocke, Phill Jupitus, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Hattie Hayridge in the Totally Looped tour.

To add to the atmosphere, there’s candle-lit cabaret seating and Sosban Fach's delicious meals in the interval. Tickets are always cheaper in advance, and can be purchased from Span Arts box office on 01834 869323 or online at span-arts.org.uk.
