The highly-anticipated BIG Plant Sale returns on Saturday May 3 at in the Old School Playground, Narberth.

People come from all around to take advantage of West Wales’ finest plant-sellers and enjoy the expert horticultural talks, as well as the quality live music, local food and drink, sights, smells, and friendly atmosphere.

The Big Plant Sale is one of the most important dates on Pembrokeshire’s gardening calendar, hosting a huge range of far-flung growers with an impressive range of flowers, herbs and vegetable plants, as well as specialist stock including bamboos, pond plants, succulents and cacti.

The BIG Plant Sale has grown into a diverse and fun-packed day for the community, bringing people from all over the three counties to the idyllic Pembrokeshire town.

It’s a community event for all the family, featuring an acoustic stage, amazing local produce from barbecues and pizza to ice cream, and there’s entertainment for the kids in the form of a bouncy castle, fairground rides, circus skill workshops and face painting.

Last year’s BIG Plant sale saw local musician Gil Gillespie perform a great set of soulful acoustic music, and share the stage with young artists such as Cathy Jewson, and The Proof – a band formed during the Span Arts outreach project, Reach the Heights, in Neyland Pupil Referral Unit.

The event raises funds for Span Arts, the local community arts charity committed to providing performances and arts experiences for people from all over Pembrokeshire.

Span Arts welcomes plant donations for their own stall and garden-related prizes for their Big Green Raffle, and the charity is always grateful for volunteers to help out with the BIG Plant Sale at every level, and support the development of arts events and community outreach projects in the area.

Children’s entry is free, and entry for adults is a donation of £2, which goes into the running costs of the plant sale and to support Span Arts in their delivery of events, workshops and outreach projects for children and adults.
