Former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams heads the line-up of special guests at this year’s PENfro Book Festival in a double bill with chaired and crowned bard Ceri Wyn Jones.

The literature event, now in its fourth year, will be held at Neuadd y Dderwen, the Oak Hall, Rhosygilwen, Cilgerran in mid-September.

Rowan Williams and Ceri Wyn Jones will be sharing the stage to read and talk about their poetry on the Saturday evening, September 13.

Rowan Williams’s first collection of poems, After Silent Centuries, was published in 1994. A new collection, The Poems of Rowan Williams, was published by Carcanet in April, with another collection, The Other Mountain, due in November 2014.

Cardigan lad Ceri Wyn Jones has won the both the Chair and the Crown at the National Eisteddfod, he has been Welsh Children's Poet Laureate, and travels far and wide conducting workshops and performing his work, including at the Smithsonian Festival in Washington DC in 2009. His poems are set texts at A and Degree Course level, and his first poetry collection, Dauwynebog (Two-faced), reached the short list of three for the Wales Book of the Year Award in 2008.

PENfro will run from Friday, September 12 to Sunday September 14. There will be plenty going on all weekend for people of all ages who love books.

Other events confirmed so far include: Mererid Hopwood on 'The Eisteddfod Chair and Bardic Crown'; David Llewellyn on 'Searching for Nuggets' – finding a gem among unsolicited mss; David Wilson on 'Landscape Photography in Black and White'; a Welsh language children's event with writer Anwen Francis and Siani the Shetland; and David Seer on 'The Life and Writing of John Seymour'.

There will be a day of workshops for writers and would-be writers on the Saturday, covering all genres.

The popular Book Fair is on the Sunday and there will be opportunities to meet many writers at book launches as well as attend interviews and talks by authors. There will be plenty of entertainment for children too.
