Theatr Mwldan Film Society presents The Dallas Buyers Club (15) on April 20 at 5.55pm.
This bold, drastic and utterly persuasive film is loosely based on the true-life tale of Ron Woodroof - a drug taking, women loving, homophobic man -who, in 1985, was diagnosed with full blown HIV/AIDS and given 30 days to live.
It stars the brilliant Matthew McConaughey as the real-life character whose self–interest is galvanised into something much more; as Woodruff searches for alternative treatments, he helps to establish a way in which HIV positive people across the USA can access his supplies.
An outsider to the gay community, Ron finds an unlikely ally in fellow AIDS patient Rayon (Jared Leto) and together they embark on a battle with the medical establishment and a fight for dignity, education and acceptance.
