Dynamix, the local performing arts school is getting set for a busy summer.

This coming weekend there are LAMDA Exams taking place with classes who have been working on selected dramatic and musical scenes and songs all term. LAMDA Exams are recognised qualifications in Acting and Musical Theatre sanctioned by the London Academy of Music and Drama and provides students with advanced performance skills as well as the confidence to succeed. Our students will present all the group and solo exam pieces in a LAMDA showcase, performed in Llechryd Hall on Sunday 6th April at 1pm.

In two weeks time Llechryd Hall transforms itself one again into a theatre for a weekend as the youngest students present an adapted version of the classic Peter Pan tale. The shows will take place in Llechryd Hall on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th April at 5pm.

The following week sees Dynamix preparing for its next major musical production of Footloose. Auditions for principal roles are being held in the Guildhall, Cardigan on Monday 7th April and Thursday 10th April from 4:30pm – 7:00pm. Footloose is one of the most explosive all American musicals of all time: seeing it burst onto the live stage at Theatr Mwldan in July 2014.

The Summer Term at Dynamix sees a further exciting development as a new school is opened in Llanddewi Velfrey, Narbeth. Classes will run every Sunday in the Village Hall beginning on 27th April. Ages 3+4 (Mini Dynamix) will run from 12:00 – 1:00pm, ages 5+6 (Little Dynamix) will run from 12:30 – 2:00pm, ages 7-9 (Junior Dynamix) will run from 1:30 – 3:30pm and ages 10-16 (Music Theatre class) will run from 3:30-6:30pm. Like the school in Llechryd Dynamix aims to bring the West End to West Wales.

Leading West End performer Leigh Rhiannon Coggins will be leading a performance workshop with the Footloose cast on Sunday 1st June. Leigh trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and has since gone on to perform as Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, Cosette in Les Miserables and many other leading roles in national productions across the UK.

Following the West End Workshop Dynamix will perform Footloose in Theatr Mwladan on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th July at 7:00pm. Tickets are now on sale for this hit show.
