Need a laugh? At this month’s Span Arts Comedy Club, join quirky Australian Benny Boot and wild Welshman Jonnie Price for a night of much-needed laughter at the Queens Hall, Narberth, on March 13.

Off-the-wall comedian Benny Boot is a quirky and original gag-writer; he’s been noted as a finalist in NBC’s Last Comic Standing competition, and he was top pick at the 2011 Edinburgh Festival. UK online comedy guide Chortle praise his “keen instinct for a joke, imaginative turn of phrase and offbeat angle”.

His alter ego "Walter Montgomery, the President of Stand-up Comedy" has proved popular, explaining the fundamentals of stand-up and dripping with irony. Benny’s engaging persona and material keeps the laughter rolling throughout the show and is guaranteed to bring any audience to the edge of madness.

For the second headliner on the line-up, we have what you might get if you crossed Ralph the muppet with a Welsh weightlifter; it’s Jonnie Price. He’s been described as ‘one of the most talented out there’ by Scott T. Fitzgerald, organiser of the Cardiff Comedy Festival.

Jonnie has been given the rather questionable title of “a Welsh Billy Connolly on steroids”. A giant of a man, he’s even more memorable for his warmth, charm and wit as he wows audiences with a high-octane joke-focused set.

There’s a friendly atmosphere and a fun crowd at this cosy night with candlelit cabaret seating and food delivered in the interval from Sospan Fach.

Advance tickets are cheaper, and can be booked either at span-arts.org.uk or book over the phone on 01834 869 323.
