Last year, Theatr Gwaun was proud to host a benefit night for local hero Swanny, as he set off on his epic round-Britain cycle ride, in aid of charity.
On Saturday, February 22, Fishguard is delighted to welcome the intrepid fundraiser back, and celebrate his success.
Impressed by the work being done by the charities Ty Hafan Hospice, Children with Leukaemia and Cancer Research, local gardener, artist and wood worker Malcolm McCarthy – known locally as 'Swanny' –rode solo around Britain's coastline to raise some money.
Riding his Dawes Horizon bicycle, he cycled approximately 50 miles each day, for three days at a time, with one day off to rest.
“Swanny: the return” promises to be a fantastic night full of music, laughter and a lot more, with a variety of artists to suit everybody of all ages, including Dixy B, a blessing of a pint size play, and other artists to be announced.
An exhibition of woodwork and photographs of the journey will be on sale, and all proceeds of the evening will go towards Swanny’s chosen charities.
Tickets are £7 and can be reserved at the Theatr Gwaun Box Office.
