Visit Aberystwyth Arts Centre for a Chinwag on January 15, 7.45pm.
Aberystwyth Arts Centre, with members of the poetry group Word Distillery, invite people to an evening of Spoken Word, welcoming readings of both poetry and prose with performances by guest writers as well as Open Mic, led by local writer and performer Mike Smith.
Anyone with five minutes of material to share or road-test with an audience, is invited to bring their words along.
Arrive early and sign your name with Mike at around 7pm as Chinwag always proves to be a massively popular event.
Novelist Katherine Stansfield will be the guest speaker for Chinwag, reading from her new novel as well as reciting some poetry.
Katherine Stansfield grew up on Bodmin Moor in Cornwall. She moved to Wales in 2002 to study at Aberystwyth University where she now works as a lecturer in Creative Writing. Her poetry has appeared in Cheval, the anthology of commended entries to the Terry Hetherington award for Young Writers. Her first book of poems, Playing House, will be published by Seren in 2014. The Visitor is her first novel.
