PREPARE for another fantastically popular cabaret night packed with music at Small World Theatre on Saturday 26 October, 7.30pm. Welcome back MOJAS and their exciting blend of roots music including South African Township, Afro-jazz, Salsa, Balkan Folk, Blue Note grooves as well as original material.
Also appearing this evening is life sized puppet 'Summer', the femme fatale of cabaret singers - she's cute, she's a platinum blonde, but she ain't no dummy performed by Small World Theatre. In the ‘golden opportunity spot', Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn's Jazz Band play jazzy tunes accompanied by band leader JP, and prepare to be blown away by the hand drummers performing a special set.
The new Mojas line-up includes Cenfyn Evans on trumpet and flugel horn, Pete Stacey on soprano and tenor saxophones, flutes and whistles, Paul Uden on guitar, John Bowen on bass and Rachel Hargrave playing congas, djembe and percussion. Over the years Mojas have delighted audiences with their earthy and original blend of acoustic guitar, percussion and jazzy brass. Tonight they promise a rare blend of music, new tunes and plenty of Latin jazz grooves to get up and dance to ‘a good night out ...' Folk Roots
The themed supper menu includes Smokey Chicken or Squash, chorizo, chard and cannellini bean with couscous & yoghurt, prepared by Jen Goss of ‘Our Two Acres' it is available to those that book by 24 October.
