The New Quay Branch of The Royal British Legion wish to thank everybody who helped with this year’s Poppy Appeal, the volunteer collectors, the Schools, the shops and businesses who kindly allowed our Poppy Trays and static Poppy boxes to be displayed on their premises.

We were pleased to include Llangrannog, Pontgarreg, Brynhoffnant and Ffostrasol in our Appeal again this year and together with the areas of Talgarreg, Mydroilyn, Llanarth and New Quay, you raised £4,457.46. This includes £355 from the Remembrance Day Church Service. And £800 from the Veterans Day Concert in June. This fantastic result would not have been possible without the very generous support of the General Public.

Each year more people come to the Legion for help and the cost of that help is continually increasing. Daily we see and read of young Service Men and Women employed in peace keeping duties in many parts of the world, often in considerable danger, and this means that there will always be a need to provide help for them and their dependants when they themselves no longer can. Your help is very much appreciated and we thank you all on behalf of those who will now benefit from your vital support.
