Newport Music Society’s inspiring summer concert takes place at Tregwynt Mansion on Saturday June 13th.
The gates open at 6.00pm for you to bring your supper picnic (&chairs) to enjoy the beautiful setting – our answer to Glyndebourne – by kind permission of Mr and Mrs D McLeod.
The concert is to be performed by Lee Mottram and four friends from the Royal WelshCollege of Music and Drama and who formed the "Hafren Quintet". The music will include ‘Trois Pieces Breves’ by Jacues Ibert, Quintet No 1 by Franz Danzi, "Mississippi Five" by Jim Parker and more – making for a very jolly and pleasing programme by these gifted and enthusiastic young musicians.
Don’t miss this concert in lovely surroundings –held in the ballroom where the announcement of the last French (1797) invasion was made. Tickets in advance from Ann George (01239) 820248 at £8.00 (Members £6) or at the door; accompanied children and students – free. Numbers limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
