'Green Drinks' is a world-wide phenomenon, with around 500 cities holding regular 'green drinks' sessions. These are opportunities for people with an interest in any aspect of the environment to get together, share views, news and make contacts in a relaxed pleasurable setting. The idea has reached Pembrokeshire with a series of monthly green drinks and film sessions planned for Newport, and starting next Wednesday, April 15th.

Llys Meddyg has offered to host them in its Garden Room as the guest-house's clientele would appreciate this addition to the events list.

Organiser Vicky Moller says "It is unusual for a town as small as Newport to host a green drinks event. They are normally held in cities where they appeal to people with a professional interest in the environment. But this area, especially Newport has a lively range of people living and working in the green sector. I hope we will attract the professionals in the field, as this type if work is expanding. A number of people go to these events in the hopes of getting a job, and many succeed. There is nothing like getting to know someone over a drink!" The full programme which includes topical films and special guests will be kept updated on Newport town website.
