CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL - The Mayor, Coun. Peter Lewis will officially open Holy Trinity Church's Christmas Tree Festival, which has gained its place as one of the town's spectacular events, next Saturday (12th) at 11 am and will be open until 4 pm. The Festival will also be open next Monday and Tuesday from 12 noon to 4 pm, Wednesday (16th) from 10.30 am to 2.30, Thursday and Friday (17th and 18th) from 2.30 to 6.30 pm and finally on Saturday (19th) from 12 noon to 4 pm. As usual, Festive refreshments will be available - welcome to all - croeso cynnes i bawb.

RUGBY - The visitors to Ddól Wiber next Saturday will be Cydweli RFC - taking on the local 'First' XV in the second round of the Swalec Plate. Please check for 'Second' and 'Youth' team fixtures, as no arrangements had been finalised at time of going to press.

SOCCER PARTY - A date for the diary - the Soccer Club's New Year's Eve Party will take place at the Soccer Club - tickets at £10 (available from Geraint asap on 07812996895) and will include a karaoke, fancy dress and a buffet will be laid on.

SOCCER - Next Saturday, the 'First' team travel to Gwent to play Cwmbran Town AFC in Division 2 of the Welsh League, the 'Seconds' entertain South Gower AFC at Parc Emlyn in the Reserve Division West - both these games ko at 2 pm. The 'Third' XI will be home to Pencader AFC in Division 2 of the Costcutters Ceredigion League with ko at 2.15.

W.I. The last meeting of the year, which is the Christmas Party, will take place tonight (Tuesday) at the Old Grammar School in Water Street at 7.30 - dont forget to take your Hamper items to Tivy Hall (Hazel's) and your Bran Tub Gift (up to £2) to the Party. At the A.G.M held recently, the following Officers were elected for 2009-10 - President, Barbara Hesford; Secretary, Ruth Jones; Treasurer, Mollie Walsh; Vice Presidents, Hazel Little and Sue Lowry. Committee members, Sally Field, Beth Cross, Shirlie Garton and Debbie Roberts were all returned unopposed.

ATTICS - The Attic Players present "SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN dwarves" (written and directed by Elaine Thompson and Suzanne Munn) at the Attic Theatre from the 9th to the 12th and from the 16th to the 19th December with doors open at 7 pm.
