The monthly meeting entitled "Bowls, Brie and Beaujolais" was held at Llandysul Bowls Pavilion on 9th July.The President, Daphne Jones, opened the evening by asking members to stand in silent respect for the sad loss of a loyal member Eithwen Jones and for Daphne Davies on the death of her husband Twelly Davies. Sympathy was extended to both families.

Congratulations were given to Judith Roberts who came second in the competition for a computer designed poster at the "Show within a Show" at the National Botanical Gardens and to Lone Howell and Jane Kerr whose entries were highly commended; also to Jean Wilson on her invitation to visit No.10 Downing Street in recognition of her local environmental projects. A cheque for £327-50p. was presented to Linda James for the Tysul Hall Committee following a successful carol singing evening last December.

Louise James of the Porth Hotel was given a gift in thanks for their continued support and help to Llandysul W.I. Some members then enjoyed a practise lesson on the Bowling Green kindly given by members of the Bowls Club. After this a buffet meal was prepared by the W.I. Committee followed by crepes made by Vaughn Evans.The competition for a cheese knife was won by Mair Lewis, second Rhian Thomas and third Judith Roberts.The vote of thanks was given by Sarah Davies.

The next meeting will be held in the Tysul Hall on September 3rd at 7:30pm and is "Tease your Tastebuds" with Gareth Richards.
