Crime of Your Life Pupils in Year 7 have taken part in ‘Crime of Your Life’. Pupils viewed a powerful performance by Performing Arts students from Pembrokeshire College. They then attended 4 workshops with Magistrates, A Young Offender, Victim Support and the Police. The session enabled pupils to discuss their findings and feelings about the performance and to find out more about the legal system and how it affects them.

R.S. Department Church Visits During the month of March, the R.S. Department has taken Year 7 to Holy Name Church to complete their work on the unit entitled ‘Worship and Meditation’. The pupils were given information on the Church and allowed to ask questions. We are grateful to Monsignor Johnson for his time.

S4C Dance Competition Kayleigh Havard from Dinas Cross is a Year 10 student at Ysgol Bro Gwaun. She is currently taking part in a S4C dance competition which aims to find the best young dancers in Wales. The programme is called Dawns-tastig and consists of a series of 10 programmes, following the competition from the audition stages through to the final.

Kayleigh travelled to the Grand Theatre in Swansea at the end of last year for the first audition, where she was successful in being selected to perform in the next round, which was held in January at the Wales Millennium Centre.

Kayleigh has been very successful in the competition and has regularly travelled to Cardiff to compete and at present has reached the semi-final stage. Along the way she has had to perform a variety of dance genres, including contemporary ballet, classical Indian dance and hip hop.

The series follows the X factor format with 3 audition stages progressing to 5 knock out rounds in front of a panel of 3 judges. The final will consist of 12 remaining competitors being reduced to 8 finalists who will, in April, travel to Palma, Majorca for 1 week, along with the judges, where they will perform in the World Folk Festival.

The first 4 of the 10 episodes of Dawns-tastig will be shown on S4C digital on the following days: Wednesday March 18th at 4.25pm Saturday March 21st at 4.35pm Monday March 23rd at 5.30pm Wednesday Match 25th at 4.25pm Pob lwc iti, Kayleigh!
