The meeting opened with the President, Mrs Dorothy Copp in the Chair.

Business concluded, Dorothy introduced our Speaker for the evening. Mrs Bernadette Jones. Her subject, The Life of a Nun.

She began by telling us about her order, The Ursulines. The order began in 1534, in Italy during the civil war. The sisters lived in villages and educated the yourg girls. Later, the order founded many schools, including Grammar and Comprehensives.

Bernadette went on to describe her life in the convent, how she became a teacher, and was moved around the country as required. Later, when her brother returned to this country to live with their parents. Their health began to fail and they needed more help, Bernadette was able to leave the Convent for 1 yr to look after them all. Returning to the Convent and carrying on with her teaching in North Wales, she again, had to leave to look after her brother. During this time she met the man she was to marry. This was a very interesting talk and full of humour, Bernadette was thanked by Dorothy Copp.

The raffle was won by Joyce Thompson.
