A scheme to sell locally grown produce at cost price direct to residents is being pioneered in Aberporth.

The village community council are investigating the possibility of setting up a Community Food Co-operative – and are bidding for cash from the National Lottery’s Secret Millioniare fund.

There are at least 100 of the schemes – run by the Rural Regeneration unit – all across Wales.

Aberporth Community Council is hoping to attract funding for a co-ordinator who will oversee the volunteer-run project.

o The council is also looking to create allotments next to the Brynglas play area.
