The monthly meeting of the Teifi District Trefoil Guild presided over by Barbara Heckler, met on May 5th at the Hen Gapel, Aberporth.

Barbara Heckler welcomed everyone including members of the Pembroke shire’s guild.

After the conclusion of business matters Barbara gave a review of the Trefoil Guild Wales/Cymru’s A.G.M that was held on April 25th.

Three members together with representatives of Pembrokeshire’s Trefoil Guild travelled to Holyhead on the previous day. En route to their destination they visited the bird sanctuary which has been set up by Montgomery Shire’s Wild Life Trust and were fortunate to see an osprey in its nest.

They spent the night in Holyhead and the following morning travelled to the R.A.F, the Reverend Tony Hughes whose theme was "Building Bridges". During the service, a collection was taken for the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

The AGM was held in the afternoon. After the completion of business matters the guest speaker was introduced.

Wing Commander Sophie Gardner MBZ, MA, MAPHIL regaled the audience with her history of her seventeen years service in the RAF which included duties in the Falklands, Afghanistan and in the Middle East. It was unanimously agreed that the day had been most enjoyable and profitable.

The county cooking competition took place on May 9th with B.Heckler, P.Storr, G.Ken, and P.Knowlton participating.

Trefoil books and the Trefoil annual report were handed out to members and Patricia Storr the Guilds new archivist was given all archivist material.

The meeting ended after partaking of tea and light refreshments.

The next meeting will be at the usual venue on June 2nd.
