Hwyl Fawr Frank Lloyd Wright is a seven hour performance that will take place on the Prince Charles Quay in Cardigan on the 8th June 2010. The event is part of the town’s 900th anniversary celebrations and reflects on Cardigan’s maritime heritage and history of emigration. The 8th June is the birth date of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. It is believed that Frank Lloyd Wright’s mother, Anna Lloyd Jones, emigrated to New York on a boat that left Cardigan in 1844.

The time-line of Cardigan’s history is long and in the 900 years of its existence it has gone through many changes. It has spoken many languages; been the foremost town in the county; had its own princely family; hosted royalty; endured battle; sheltered pilgrims; been famous for its estuary and port; and given birth to some great poetry, art and music.
